2010-2011 REBO STRUCTURE

The REBO does not duplicate the activities of the Robious Middle School PTA, rather it serves to supplement the activities of the PTA. The REBO supports:

The Instructors

• Purchase classroom materials and supplies
• Underwrite professional education expenses
• Volunteer onsite on as-needed basis
• Teacher Appreciation

The Curriculum

• Support, as needed, activities and trips
• Obtain and fund guest speakers
• Provide specific materials for enrichment events
• Offer professional expertise or connections to enhance curriculum

The Students

• Provide centralized information about camps, workshops and programs
• Maintain presence on Robious PTA to ensure coordination of activities
• Deliver workshops to prepare students for high school and college
• Coordinate hospitality and special events

The Families

• Manage centralized communications about Robious CBG activities and needs
• Identify and coordinate volunteers and parent resources
• Maintain web community for the Robious CBG families that does not duplicate teacher and school websites
• Share links to national information and recent academic findings on gifted education
• Deliver workshops for parents to assist in preparations for high school
• Provide information and deadlines for camps, workshops, and programs available specifically to students in Chesterfield County CBG programs
• Update parents on county gifted and honors education, specifically county strategic planning and funding
• Represent the Robious CBG community internally within RMS and externally with other CBG programs and the Chesterfield County Gifted Advisory Council
• Implement voluntary fund drives
• Assist with Spring Open House for 5^th grade parents considering the CBG at Robious
